Beauty | Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Liquid + Stick

So, today, I’m really excited to talk to y’all about a product I’ve been using for about 3 years now. I love that this foundation is available in like a gazillion colors and undertones. A big downside is the price, but honestly, I only invest in my base and buy about two foundations a year.  Luckily, about a week after I finished my last bottle of the MakeUp Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, Influenster sent me both the liquid and stick foundation. Also, on Sephora, you can get a FREE sample of this foundation with a $25 purchase!

So a few general foundation things first. I apply my foundation with the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. Also, I like to wear buildable foundations because I wear foundation maybe once a week because that’s about how often I go out. I am looking for a fuss-free foundation because I don’t have time to sit there blending it out and worry about how it’s going to look in every light.

Liquid

First of all, the first thing I noticed was the repackaging. It looks the exact same besides adding the “Ultra HD” to the title. In the old bottle, the lid would pop off really easily, and I had so many foundations explosions.  The finish of this foundation is absolutely gorgeous. It ups your selfie game like no ones business. I’m still shocked by how flawless my skin looks in photos when I wear this foundation.

Also, I have combination skin with oiliness in my t-zone and dryness on the tops of my cheeks. Basically, my skin always looks greasy af, but makeup catches on some random dry spots. This effortless glides over all my imperfections and to blur them out. However, it tends to get a bit slick after wearing it for a while. In Austin, it’s still in the 80s during the day and evenings, so I do use a primer and set it with a powder.

Cream

Like many people with dry patches, I’m weary of stick foundations. I can imagine the cake-y faced mistake of years past. Right now, the stick foundation is more a winter  shade, so I use it to “highlight” under my eyes. It surprisingly wasn’t cake-y at all and didn’t settle into fine lines. Also, it didn’t stick to any dry patches. It stayed all day on my face during a game, the fair, and a few tears (because we lost).

This definitely isn’t going to be an every day product for me. It blends effortlessly, but as a I ranted before, I rarely wear any makeup. If I’m trying to look extra nice, I will use this. Also, this covered up my under eye circles like no ones business. Usually, I use the  color correcting concealer with a normal concealer on top, and it helps brighten up the area a bit. I didn’t even need to with this gem, so #blessed to have one less step to do.

Shows to Binge Watch this Fall

A little over a year ago, we did a post on shows to watch on Netflix during that summertime sadness. We wanted to update that to include new shows that we are in love with. For me, fall time is the time of the year that I snuggle up with my roommate and watch T.V. with scented candles. Also, the colder weather makes me feel extra cuddly. Side note, I’ve recently gotten back into Netflix since I’ve had a moment to breathe.

How I Keep Up With My Planner

Hey guys! I hope everything is going well! Exam time is upon us, so I basically have had nonexistent free time the past two weeks. Fear not, I have an exam and three projects this week, so it’s only going to get better. When I start to have a lot of studying to do, I stop effectively using my planner. I know when my tests are because I’m so insanely stressed out. I use my Google Calendar and planner to stay organized because I’m actually a crazy person. So, I wanted this to serve as a reminder for both myself and y’all to stay organized.
Planner Tips for Mid-Semester | The middle of the semester can be rough. Stay organized!

Overview

Just a background on my planner, I bought it from Target for two specific reasons.  I like this layout because I’m a to-do list person, and I have a pretty regular life with few changes week to week. This basically becomes my master to-do list, and I tend to write my daily to-do list on a sticky note or on my Momentum home page. Momentum is a home page for Google Chrome that features gorgeous places around the world along with a to-do, daily intention, inspirational quote, and weather.

 Monthly View

In the beginning of the month, I write down all my work for the month. In that, I mainly have big assignments, tests, and extracurricular activities. I like my month at a glance to really highlight the important work. Side Note: The time I took these pictures and finished this post took waaaay too long. Also, I don’t have gorgeous blogger handwriting, so oops.

Weekly View

I have classes Monday to Thursday, so every Thursday between classes, I sit down and write my schedule changes and to-do list for the week. I have some very ambitious friends that write down all their work for the semester in the beginning. I’m waaaaay to lazy, and I like to know exactly what I have coming up for the week. I first write down everything on the right side of the page and fill in my to-do list chronologically. Through out the week, I fill in all the other boxes. My favorite is the “To Buy” column because I always remember groceries I need when I’m in class.
